COMPANY OVERVIEW
Who we are and what we do…

LSB was established in 1998 and has grown over the last eighteen years to become the leading lubricants distributer in Botswana, commanding a market share of approximately 65%. The distributorship dates back to 1992 and was initially a Castrol distributorship operating as a division of a separate entity until the incorporation of LSB in 1998

At the inception of LSB in 1998 Castrol was an unknown brand in Botswana with a very small (below 5%) market share. The establishment of the Castrol brand to its present strength and the capturing of the market share are the outcomes of a process initiated by the present Chairman Aryl Ralebala when he joined LSB at its inception in 1998, supported by a team of committed staff.

We also produce products for agricultural machinery, plant, general industry and marine engineering uses. All our products have a global chemical registration status and meet compliance in all locations where the product is used.

  • Aviation, industrial, marine and energy lubricants: developed for the business-to-business community, supplying solutions to the manufacturing, mining, shipping, aviation and oil and exploration industries. Our global business operations provide worldwide assurance, improved productivity, improved environmental products and trusted advice focussed on optimising our customers’ production processes.

At the forefront of pioneering technology with our 7 R&D centres globally, we develop and test hundreds of new products every year. We work closely with leading industry OEMs, with whom we supply a broad range of lubricants designed for particular operating conditions and environments. Many of our products are recommended by and co-engineered with major OEMs, including Audi, Ford, MAN, Honda, JLR, Volvo, Seat, Skoda, Tata and Volkswagen, for their ‘new to the world’ powertrains

Donaldson is always developing next generation products and services to solve complex filtration and contamination control challenges. As today’s equipment and technology advances, our vast network of expert scientists, multi-disciplined engineers and state-of-the-art internal resources help us create innovative solutions to anticipate and exceed these evolving requirements.

A Record of Innovation and Industry Firsts

We are a recognized pioneer in nanofiber technology. For over two decades, we have manufactured and tested filter elements using fibers less than a micron in width. In the transportation market, with tightening environmental regulations and improved aerodynamics necessitating decreasing sizes and weights, our R&D efforts have produced smaller, lighter and more efficient filters and filtration systems.
